Capt. Geo. E. Judd.
Sub Asst. Comr.

Sir.
About two days since the Rev. E. McKinney of this city was notified by the Ku Kulx to leave within twenty days.

Last night the Klan was out in force for "drill" I suppose. However, by way of diversion, broke down the door of a colored man's house. shot at him two or three times. he returning the fire. they retreated splendidly. leaving on the battle field the nightly shroud of their Commander. At one A.M. they marched by the house of Mr McKinney, haulted for a few moments "to get the lay of the ground" I am informed, and paved on. Mr. McKinney and others have requested of me to ask Gen'l Carlin for a few rounds of cartridges. say 500 or more
