Mr. Geo. L. White

Dear Sir,
Desiring information concerning the length of our term of School. I deem it prudent to write you a few words. The school at Carthage is progressing very well at present. Have a very good attendance. But as the weather is getting very warm and our house is not very well ventilated it is very disagreeable. For which reason, I think it best to have a vacation of two or three months beginning the first of July. But unwilling that you Should regulate my school as the others under, your control. Would like to know your time for closing school. But my opinion is that scholars will learn but little during the months of July and August Would like to engage in come other kind of business for you when my term closes if an opportunity should offer.
Please write with out delay.
Your Ob't Serv't.
Edmund Stanley.
