T.8. U.S.D. 1868. Memphis, Tenn., March 1st 1868 T. 6. L.R. A.C.O.T. - 1868. Treat, Mrs. C.F. Acting Matron, Canfield C.O. Asylum. States that she has been for the last ten months Actg. Matron of the Canfield C.O. Asylum, and has been connected with it most of the time since its organization. States that she intends to go to her home, in Kansas, in the month of April, and desires to take with her three orphan children, two girls and one boy, provided she can get Gov't. transportation for them. Pledges herself to see that these children are properly brought up, and receive a moderate education. Desires transportation for herself and two children, if not against regulations, to Hays City, Kansas, on South Pacific R.R. Desires to go as much of the distance by river as possible.
