Nashville. I went again near the last of October 1865. Capt. Lucas said the papers had not yet returned he also told me that if they did not return by by the 1st of November he would take the responsibility of turning over the house on Pine street and by the 10th. of November the property on Market street. He represented to me that Capt. Ben. S. Nicklin was the Attry. for the Bureau, Capt Lucas rented two rooms in the house on Pine Street at ($6.00) six Dollars pr month. to Mrs. Riley commencing on the first day of Jany. 1866. and three rooms at ($5.00) five dollars pr month to Mr. James Williamson, I could have rented the same property for ($35.00) thirty five dollars pr month I have been told that no rent was paid to Capt Lucas for the rooms rented by Mrs. Riley
