40. 112. Raleigh N.C. March 16th 1868 Hinyon Jessee Esq. J.P. Johnson Co. Sir Dennis Whitley complains at this Office that one Gideon O.Neil threatened to shoot him and afterwards struck. him with a plow beam. This was an assault occasioned by O'Neil taking an iron wedge belonging to Dennis without his consent, and when Dennis asked him for it, O'Neil made the assault, You will please have this man arrested and if you find this statement correct. have him held to bail in the sum of $500 00 for his appearance at. Agt Lt Goldboro Sir Rose Morgan complains that Robert Lennon (col soldier) owes her $3.00 for washing. This man is now in Goldsboro and should be made stay. Agt &c Sir, Robert Jones complained at this Office that one William Taylor owes him $15.75/100 for labor performed at a steam saw mill at or near Rocky Mount.
