Article of agreement between
B.F. Dowdy of the 1st part & Alfred Taylor Col'd
of the 2nd part For the For the year 1866
1st I, B.F. Dowdy am to furnish land and two 
Horse or mules and feed for the same
I am also to furnish farming tools and pay
for sharpening and repairing the same.

2nd Alfred & his children Mary & Cato are to
work in the crop & do general work about the 
house & farm, they are to repair fences make 
gates get fire wood do my milling and until
the crop is commenced they are to do general 
work about the farm & after the crop is made
and gathered, they are to do any and all
reasonable work I may require of them until the 
25th day of December 1866.
3rd
Alfred's Daughter Lavenia is to work in 
the house do the cooking, washing, ironing, milking 
and do house work generally until the 26th day
of Dec 1866 for which she is to be paid eight dollars
per month payable on the expiration of one year.  She 
furnishing her clothing & paying her Doctors Bill and 
I BF Dowdy am to furnish her provision from my table.
