This obligation entered into this day between W. M. Norment employer and Frank Charles and Linda Norment Cold (The mother of three children by Fannie Edmond and James) witnesseth that the said employer is to pay Frank (200) Two hundred dollars Charles Ninety (90) dollars and Linda Ninety (90) dollars for their Services the present year, under the direction & controls of said employer in the capacity of Labourers or Servants. Frank in providing wood feeding stock, improving the premises, driving the waggon, labouring in the fields or other [[strikethrough]][[/strikethrough]] usual in such cases. Charlott, Linda & Linda's child or children in the work in which they have been engaged Cooking, washing, housework, nursing or other work necessary or reasonable.

The employer is to feed the above named servants or Labourers. They clothing themselves and paying their Dr's Bill except the girl Fanny who is to be clothed by employer. The employed agree to be industrious, and to look to the interest and consult the wishes of employer and family in whatever work they may be engaged, and to be polite and respectful in all our deportment. The employer agreeing to look to the interests & morals of the employed and to discharge faithfully the duty of employer. They agreeing faithfully to discharge the duty of hirelings. Should any of the employed absent themselves without the consent of the employer. Such deductions shall be made as will be sufficient to meet the losses and inconvenience sustained Thusly.
