Know all Men by these Presents, that I, E.P. McNeal of the County of Hardeman, State of Tennessee held and firmly bound to the United States of America in the sum of Seven hundred Sixty-eight Dollars Dollars, for the payment of which I bind my heirs, executors and administrators, firmly, by these presents, in this CONTRACT: That I am to furnish the persons, whose names are subjoined (freed laborers) Quarters, Fuel, substantial and healthy Rations, [[strikethrough]] Unnecessary Medical Attendance and Supplies in case of sickness, [[/strikethrough]] and the amount set opposite their respective names per month, during the continuation of this Contract-the laborers to be paid in full before the final disposal of the crop which is to be raised by them on my plantation, in the County of Hardeman, State of Tennessee.

The employees agree to furnish their own clothing and pay their own medical bills if any. proper deductions to be made for lost time to the industry and attendance to business. The employer takes all lost time on account of bad weather
