"Grand Poppo" - actually spelled "Popo". along the African coast in what is now "Benin", near Ghana.
"Port Nova" or actually "Porto Nova" - Porto-Novo is a port on an inlet of the Gulf of Guinea - east of Grand Poppo. It is the capital of Benin.
Benin Bar - would be in that same area of water.
