Representative from Fort Berthold, SD; construction of the dam will inundate their lands and they will have to move to the Bad Lands. Here Wm FireThunder took charge of the meeting. ** Lorena Three Persons gave her report on the educational problems of the Navajos.** Dan Madrano read messages from: Mayes County Unit ofNCAI, Craig County, Geo D. Gonzales, Sacramento; Robert Yellowtail, Wm L. Paul, Juneau; Archie Phinney, F. G. The Indian Office refers GI'S to the bank when they go to the Agency for a loan - and the bank send them back to the Indian Agency, Thinks the Veterans Administration should work out some system of getting information to lending agencies. * John Gates from Ft Yates, SD, of the Dakota tribe discussed streamlining the Bureau - wants the Bureau improved. * Ataloa!s Address ***** (on behalf of the Indians of North Dakota) Mrs. Burgess read a proposed resolution, asking assistance from the Congress on the Garrison Dam deal (Ft. Berthold). The resolution was sent by the Indians of Montana. She also said that we should work out a plan whereby we can have a newspaper - and also investigate Alaskan Indian matters. any sensible liquor law -
