RESOLUTION: ** RE Social Security Benefits,

Whereas: The states of Arizona and New Mexico discriminate against their Indian citizens in granting of Social Security Benefits as provided by federal law:

Whereas: The National Congress of American Indians is committed to fight discrimination again Indians in all its phases, and

Whereas: The Indian citizens of Arizona and New Mexico are in dire need of old age assistance, aid to the blind, and other forms of Social Security benefits,

Now therefore be it resolved that the National Congress of American Indians, through its officers, and in every other way open to the organization work to remove this discrimination and to secure for the Indians of New Mexico and Arizona the aid to which they are entitled under the law.
