Santa Fe Convention

Resolution handed to permanent committee

Why is it necessary for the Comanche Indians and others under the Western Consolidated Agency at Amadarko Oklahoma be required to pay large income taxes, yet their money in their own individual account remain restricted to their free use. Therefore, they must wire Washington for approval even after the Supt. in charge recommends large checking out of individual money, for some who are fortunate to have money producing oil wells.

What good is all of this money if the Indian cannot use it as they see fit. Why hold it back from those it belongs to, in the undemocratic way they are doing in Washington.

Also speed-up the action of Indian claims for Kiowa, Apache, Commanche, as the expiration date is fast slipping by.

Sincerely
Kye Yackeyonny
