predominant by male because what ended up happening was, it's a very physical art form, and there was a lot of, sort of like a territorial thing, like you know, this is my space, you know don't write on it.

But now, like I was saying about the evolution of graph and what this art form has gone through, there is a lot of women involved, and you know---

Speaker 2:
--Yea we've been -- its surprising to see how many more women are involved.

We were recently in Mexico city and I think the scene there was more dominated by women then actual men; they were sort of more in control of it. -Yea.

Oh yes. Yeah, part of what we do in New York City, I don't know, is sort of like, --

started for us in New York City was -- just because of the neighborhood, and the way that things are in the city, you know, a lot of people were dying at a young age.

But what was happening, as we were painting murals, people started to

approach us and they wanted us to do murals for people who had passed away, whether it was there brother, sister, you know,

{SPEAKER name="Speaker 2"}
and in the beginning we sort of started out doing people that we knew, like we were painting a mural for ourselves,

{SPEAKER name="Speaker 2"}
and if we knew of someone that had passed away, we would write, "Rest In Peace," whatever the person's name was, and that was it; sort of off in the corner.

{SPEAKER name="Speaker 2"}
And it sort of developed into where people who didn't know were approaching us and say, "Listen my brother just passed away," "He was hit by a car," "He was stabbed," "He was shot."

{SPEAKER name="Speaker 2"}
You know, whatever the story, each, everyone has a story. They would approach us and say, "Listen, I want you to do his portrait. I want his face. He was into baseball."

{SPEAKER name="Speaker 2"}
And what would happen is, we would sit down with the friends, the family, and they would sort of describe what this person was like.

Again, we don't know these people so they would sit down and describe to us what this person was like, how they wanted him remembered,

and this is how we would design memorial walls, and the more of these walls we did, the more complex we did. You want to elaborate more?

Um, I know for a fact that when we was painting --
