NARA 665

Stantonsburg Sept 26th

To the Officer in Charge of Freedmens Bureau, Goldsboro N.C.

Dear Sir:

Your letter in regard to the hire of 2 negro girls was received a day or two ago, & on account of the absence of my partner in New York, I could not come up and see you. I will come to Goldsboro Monday or Tuesday and see you about the matter, and I think satisfy your mind on the subject. My action in regard to the two girls was approved and sanctioned by your predecessor in office , & it was by his orders that I kept the girls.

Yours Respectfully
Jno B. Carrow
