S.P. Langley,
Secretary
Washington D.C. April 9, 1894.
Dear Sir;-

Referring to your note of February 23d, in which you advised me that your design for the Hodgkins medal would be ready at an early date, I venture to ask what progress has now been made, and how soon you will have the model ready for examination.

You recommended Mr. Charles Osborne of New York as an engraver: may I ask whether you recommend him as a proper person to cut the die for the medal, or whom you would advise.

I may repeat that it is very desirable that the model shall be accepted, the die cut, and the medal struck before the first of July, when it is to be awarded.

Very respectfully yours,
S.P. Langley
Secretary.
