Dear Mr. and Mrs. Fleischman:

On behalf of the other exhibitors of the Stuart Davis Memorial Exhibition, as well as the National Collection of Fine Arts, I want to thank you for your willingness to lend Television to the exhibition. Your prompt and generous response to my letter of January 22 requesting the painting is deeply appreciated.

I should now like to impose further upon your generosity. May we also borrow your Stuart Davis, Summer Twilight, for the same exhibition? We would, of course, assume the same responsibility for crating and shipping charges, insurance, and security for this painting as we have for all works lent to the show.

I regret that our rapidly approaching printer's deadline for the catalogue puts me in the position of asking that, if you can grant this late request, the enclosed loan form be returned as soon as possible.

Sincerely yours,
David W Scott

Enclosure: 1 loan form in duplicate

P.S. If we may have Summer Twilight for the show, we wish to reproduce it in the catalogue. May I, therefore, especially request a black and white photograph accompany the loan form, when and if it is returned.
