Dear Mr. and Mrs. Fleischman:

On December 1, 1965 we are to open an exhibition to be called "Roots of Abstract Art in America, 1910-1930." It is to run through January 16, and for it we shall publish an illustrated catalogue. We should be most grateful if we could borrow the following from you for the exhibition.

John Marin Taos Canyon, New Mexico, 1929
[[crossed-out]]Charles Sheeler Classical Landscape, 1928 [[/crossed-out]]
Max Weber Spring, 1913-18

I hope that you will allow us to include these in the exhibition. To avoid possible delay, Dr. David W. Scott, the Director, suggests that we send you our contract forms with this request.

With all best greetings and thanks.

Very sincerely,
