III. Provisions for common schools actually made.
1. Interest overdue & set apart by act of Legislation $245.411.46.
2. Interest maturing Dec. 1th 1868 - 198,106.80
3. Revenue from poll-tax of $1.50/00 - $160,578.50
4. Revenue from Rail Roads, Banks [[maceration??]] - $603,578.00

The one fifth of the aggregate annual revenue of the State, which the present Constitution sets apart for Education, is not available this year because the present assessment was made before the Constitution was formalized and took effect.

When all the above named provisions, which have been made, or which may be made, are taken into account, I think it will be found, that in no state of the Union is there more liberal provision for the cause of common School Education than in the State of Alabama. In this regard I am proud of her record. Hoping that this report may afford you the desired information & prove satisfactory.

I am, very respectfully
