Upon my arrival at Opelika, I found Mr. Mutch, our teacher, about to remove his school to a new house erected by himself, on his own ground, expressly for school purposes. Since the formation of the new county of Lee, and the selection of Opelika as the county-seat, buildings have been in such great demand, that it was found impossible to rent one for a school house. Mr. Mutch, foreseeing the difficulty, with commendable energy, set about building a house 18 by 36. This is so far completed as to be ready for use on Mon-day next.
