Sub Dist. of Greenville
Bureau R.F. & A.L.
Greenville, Ala Nov 26th 1868

Respectfully returned to Bvt. Lieut. Col. Beecher, Asst. Commr, Mr. Grover taught a colored school of 35 scholars in Calhoun, last year, and was compelled to discontinue the school because the patrons failed to pay him. It is very evident that the parties applying for the school, do so with a view to their own benefit, in the sale of merchandise by the attraction thus held forth to colored people.
