Dr Sir.
I have been sent to this place by the Freedmen's Aid Commission, Cleveland Ohio, to teach school; have commenced, & as far as the school is concerned, am doing well. - but the prejudice is so great, & the treatment I receive is so severe, that I know not what to do, & write this to you for protection & advice. 
Mr A Bingham of this place the Gentleman to whom I was referred before I left Cleveland, Secured me an excellent boarding place, & I suppose that I should remain in guilt for the year - but the neighbor & friends of the lady with whom
