Dear Sir:
I much regret that you will not return before I leave, as I am compelled to go with the Regt. to Springfield yet I trust by addressing you I shall soon hear from you after I am mustered out at Springfield.

Please write me what the prospects are for me at "Demopolis" (or any other point) tell me how soon I could commence, and if it be necessary for me to pass an examination, if so where? Tell me how much is the best you can do for myself & wife - and Mr Prather? "Or myself & wife"? Should I commence a school at Demopolis, could I go direct there or would I have to come to see you first. would you expect me to continue the school 'till next Spring or per month as long as it could be satisfactory? (I fear I shall worry your patience with my questions) I desire a full understanding before I commence a work. And I feel quite an interest in the education of these
