Dear Sir
The Rev Dr Easter acting under authority derived from you employee Mrs. Hampton as teacher of a free school at a stated salary, this school has been closed but the salary has not been paid, as the teacher is not at home (being detained by sickness) and as this lady needs the money very much I take the liberty as the [[?]] friend to call your attention to the fact, feeling very sure that you will take pleasure in investigating the cause of delay, if it is that she has neglected some form, she will gladly correct it when printed out, if her claim has been overlooked I feel very sure you will be glad to have your attention directed to it.

Very Respectfully
Your Ob't Sv't
