The one hundred and fifty dollars you sent last winter for repairs &c on school house still remains in the hands of individuals unexpended or seventy dollars of it; so the colored Trustees of school informs me.
If the Government through the Bureau makes these improvements; it is certainly entitled to the credit, which has heretofore been placed to the credit of private individuals and benevolent associations.
I have yet to hear of any expenditures of money by these societies in building school houses and churches for the colored people, other than that furnished by the Bureau.
