Dear Sir yours of the 21st is at hand, and it has rather dumfounded me.  I have given up every other interest, to attend especally and exclusively to the interest of the Freedmen, and was entirely willing to do so, provided, I could support by family in doing so.  on $75. per month with rigid economy I was able to get along tolerably well.  Circumstances not necessary for me to name to you, have forced me to the necessity of boarding the presant year, and I thought also by doing so I would be able to give my undivide time to the intrest of my School, and I am perfectly willing for you or any No. of men that you may select, to come and examine my School and determine my ability and effort by the same
