My Dear Sir:

Your favor of the 22nd inst has just come to hand.

Inasmuch as probably some time may elapse before you will be able to give me a definite answer to inquiry concerning Normal Schools, I thought it proper to acknowledge the receipt of your kind and encouraging letter, and to thank you for the interest manifested in our behalf.

Rest assured that we (here) shall do our part in urging forward the movement, and there are strong friends in Pittsburgh who are doing the same—  I shall leave here
