Dear Genl,
Yesterday I transmitted to you, thro. Rev. Mr. Alvord, My first report, for the month of March

Permit me to ask your special attention to the items in that report headed "Opposition to the Work" & "General Remarks"

Something must be done to aid in furnishing Teachers for the coming year. The Benevolent Associations of the North will not be able to keep the present number of Teachers in the field next year. How can we obtain some assistance from the Bureau for the payment of Teachers in whole or in part.?

With great regard,
Yours Sincerely,
R.D. Harper.
Supt. of Education
State of Alabama.
