Sir.
You will perhaps recollect my calling at your office with Mr. Neely, to enquire what the Bureau [[strikethrough]] woul [[/strikethrough]] would do in reference to renting schoolrooms.

Miss Laura Brown and myself have made arrangements to begin school in Hayneville.

We could not find any comfortable house with two schoolrooms, and have rented two houses - which, each, furnish a large and convenient schoolroom.

The Freedmen have a house here deeded to the "Methodist Episcopal Church," I used the little tuition money I rec. last Spring upon it, or rather gave it into the hands of a Committee to use - and instead of making the house
