We have 11 Colored Schools here & 13 White Schools in this County the Teachers employed for Teaching Colored Schools are as a general thing very poor teachers only 2 of them Northern men and one of them is a dead head & he received a few days since a $10 check on the Mobile bank for rent he is not doing anything for the good of his School I am sure he is a tool for the Enemys of the government with he to get favors from the government for ful particulars of this gentlemen address Mr Peter Lydon who knew him in Ky befor coming here at Macon Station Hale County Ala, if I fail in geting the rent from you Col I will be compeled to pay the rent from my salary at $10 per month from the 1st day of January 1869 I have no blank or I would fill one out and enclose it in this I will however send one of my own make
