Dear Sir,
I have the honor to transmit the enclosed letter from one of our teachers for your consideration. The school in question, as I understand was under the care of the Pittsburgh branch of the Am. F. Union Commission, and with their other schools and effects, was a few weeks since transferred to us. The precise date of the destruction of the school house has not been given us, but can easily be ascertained with all the circumstances, on the spot. My impression is that it occurred in 1867 a.d. A school house is greatly needed there. We have two teachers on the ground, and the prospect of a large school. I trust, dear Sir, that you will give the necessary orders for the erection of a suitable building in place of the one burned.

In behalf of the Committee,
Edwin F. Hatfield,
Chairman
