INTRO 1 1 THIS is copy for the introduction memoirs I have been thinking about these memoirs for a long time,probably 10 years. I kept accumulating information in my mind but never put down on paper.because of my spinal;stenosis attack on agaust 2000 I felt the time was right to bring out the memoirs from my mmmind into paper.I have been a participant member of the art avant garde in Argentina from my early teen years until 19t63. From 1963 up to present I was very involved with the art avant garde in USA. The memoirs focus on developmentrs in the art world in general and sometimes in political and social changes. 50 years is a long time, probably several generation of artists but there are certain thing that remain constant like art is an urban activity and most of the time for an elite class,even the work itself tryies to be more accesible.Art and popular culture merge only after a long time.I have seen many concepts that were the domain of avant gardee art that become very mainstream like currently [[strikethrough]] window [[/strikethrough]] design " appropiated" many concept from installation art from the 70's. During my long career I was exposed to political changes in the world as well as "fashion" changes in the art world.
