SOHO TELEVISION PRESENTS
MIDWINTER NIGHTS' EVE ENTERTAINMENT

"In a distant universe called Beta Nova, a sisterhood of a few planets and dwarf stars is populated by the descendants of the savages of asterisk, a once interstellarly acknowledged race of advanced technology ..." On Monday, January 22nd at 8 PM on Channel 10 PETER GRASS explores the realms of video with "The Mutants of Beta Nova," an irreverent look at science fiction by the artist. Peter Grass is a multimedia artist having worked in, among others, film, video, painting, graphics, silkscreen and photography.

On Monday, February 5th, SoHo Television presents two surrealist works. The first, "Available Light," was produced by DAVID ROSE. Based upon psychic reading by Ralph Lewis the images quickly change in quatrains of color and light. Yet they are real images; poet, painter, painting, model, musician that appear and return accompanied by an electric base continuum by George Barajas.

Part II of the program is "A Dream in a Cage" a part of a larger work entitled "Romance of the Engel of Lions" by ROBERT GOLDMAN. Three elaborately dressed women meet for high tea and gossip. Their tea-party is held outdoors - in a cage of the Boston Zoo. They speak of their love for money while ghostly cavemen emerge from the rocks behind them and cavort on nearby stones.

SoHo Television is a project of the Artists Television Network. The series is cablecast by Manhattan Cable Television and Teleprompter Cable Television Monday evenings at 8 pm on Channel 10. This project is supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. For further information contact Leandra Strobing, 212 254-4978.
