Jaime Davidovich 

I was born in Buenos Aires,Argentina. I studied fine arts in my native country and in Uruguay. In the late sixties I moved to New York. I studied at the School of Visual Arts. On the early seventies I was involved with EAT (Experiments in Art and Technology)I participated in several group shows. In 1972 I exhibit my first video installation at The Akron art Institute in Ohio. In 1973 I participated in the Whitney biennial of American Art. In 1974 my videos were shown at the "Open circuit" show at The Museum of Modern Art New York. In 1975 I received my first CAPS grant in video from NYSCA. The same year I presented my videos at the "The New American Filmmakers Series" at the Whitney Museum of American Art. In 1976 I shown among other places, at Anthology Film Archives in New York, The Museum of Modern Art, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Kitchen, New York, The Museum of Modern Art, Tehran, Iran. In 1978 I received my first NEA grant for video. The same year IO started The Live! Show a weekly television show in Manhattan Cable Channel 10. This show was aired every Monday at 11pm, it lasted until 1983. Also in 1978 I participated on the First encounter of video at the Center in Barcelona Spain. In 1979 I had an artist in residence in the University of Iowa, Maastrich University, Holland and American Center in Barcelona Spain. In 1981 I produced new video works at The Long Beach Museum of Art in California. I exhibited at the New Museum ,New York, Museum of Fine Arts, Louisiana Denmark, Chicago editing Center, Chicago, Illinois. In 1982 I received my second CAPS fellowship in video from NYSCA. This year I showed at The American Center in Paris, Video and Television Fedstival,Nederland, In 1983 I was invited to participate at the Sao Paolo Bienal. In 1984 I received my second NEA fellowship in video. At year I showed at World Wide video in Nederland, 1era Biennial de La Havana, Cuba. The Gallery of Contemporary art, Cleveland Ohio. In 1986 I showed at Exit Art New York, The Queens Museum New York. In 1988 I had a one man show at the Diane
