Dear Eero- I have been unable to write since Paris and may be you never even got my letter because of the strike which paralized all of France for several weeks. The Embassy job is progressing and bids and specifications go out this week. What a job to be done in 3-4 weeks. I'll return to New York on the 8th the day after Labor day & will probably jump immidiately into the many current problems. This was a good trip from various points of view. A-s- received your last letter and of course discussed it with me. I have been very descreet and non-committal. She met by chance your mother in Gothenberg and was received very "cold" which didn't or did help matters. In any case I was somewhat on the spot because it is so evident that you have changed so fast and the reasons you give are not too convincing to a clever and sensitive [[strikethrough]] w [[/strikethrough]] woman. I hope that the following experience will make you a more mature  and sure person in these matters. Upon return I'll explain more fully what I mean. Am of course anxious to see you & hope you come to N.Y. soon. I hope your trip to California was a success without charts and analysis and that your good friend C.E. is supporting your new choice.
