book for its day and age.

I am going to write letters all day - not mentioning dates - but writing about you - with the window wide open and a Sunday Symphony playing.

Your letters of this whole week have been very wonderful and your last one especially was quite a beautiful letter. I am so terribly sorry how upset you were. I just feel that all through that Harry business - if I had seen him freely - at the risk of losing you - I would have came creeping and crawling back to you right away. What is an "engagement" but a word. It is love that counts, and freedom in love that keeps the spirit and will in it alive. I feel sure that jealousy comes from doubt in love. I also feel sure that tolerance and sympathy and understanding could ride anything and simply have to exist in a happy marriage.
