"TIME"

This installation uses all the elements of the natural world and allusions to others to offer a visual commentary of the impermanence of the physical domain and a statement about the cyclical nature of life.

The elements of water is present as a quiet pool while the hangings signify the rain that fills it. The soft sculpture "roots" depict the permeating quality of the water as it represents those spiritual things that fill us and nurture us just as music fills us for an ephemeral moment.

"Undercurrents"
(Shadow Box)

As music is made of many configurations of sound, so are there many intangible twinnings and interweavings which are the backdrop for the natural order we maintain in life.

"Calendar/Clock"

Again the element of time motivated this visual calendar - with blue strands of water binding together the seasons and serving to represent the clear sounds of music that can only be apprehended in time - not caught and held as physical time can enslave and direct cadence and song.

"And the Dance Continues"
(Table Piece)

The ruddy and genderless face lies in wait for rebirth, touched with gold even as the tree is touched - it may be the promise of a new season or the hand of God at work, a reassurance. Beneath the physical pauses the spiritual.

"Dryway"
(Wall Hanging)

Water nourishes roots which foster strong wood. The lyricism of the roots/origins is sped upward to give life to the tiny figure on the surface.
