BLACK ACADEMY OF ARTS AND LETTER, INC. September 13, 1971 Mr. Hale Woodruff 22 East Eighth Street New York, New York 10003 It is my pleasure to add to the welcome extended by Dr. Lincoln and the members of the Academy upon your election to membership. I sincerely hope that you were able to set aside the days of the Annual meeting as was suggested in our original correspondence, particularly because we suffered delay in our elective process. We have enclosed a copy of the schedule for September 18th and 19th, as well as an address and reservations form which was recently sent to members. Because of the lack of time, we would appreciate your telephoning us to indicate whether you will be bringing a guest to lunch and dinner on Saturday, and to the Banquet on Sunday evening. We look forward to hearing from you, and extend our best wishes. Sincerely, Julia Prettyman (Mrs.) Executive Director JP/JJ encls. 475 RIVERSIDE DRIVE NEW YORK, NEW YORK 10027 TELEPHONE: 212-663-4740 BOARD OF DIRECTORS C. Eric Lincoln, President John O.
