was an exquisite painting of a very beautiful lady. The portrait of Washington we referred to was painted by the elder Robertson, one of three brothers all miniature painters, the painter of Washington being a resident artist here. Another brother was secretary for many years of the "American Academy of fine Arts", the other and more celebrated of the three, a prominent miniature painter in London. Some of his works reached this country, particularly remembered the young officer in British uniform in possession of Col Trumbul, the other a gentleman in a blue coat, the original picture is in the possession of and on exhibition in the Art Gallery of the Atheneum [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] in Hartford, a very fine forcible miniature.
