Sir Fayette Isun many times. On one occasion he brought to the studio .. a quite large "miniature" painted on unpolished white marble or unglazed porcelain. As I remember some 6 by 8 in. and I think on white marble, of Washington. On board the vessel Cosmo coming out. He discovered a speck of something on the face of the picture, and removing the glass - in place of taking a dry point to remove it - moistened the corner of his handkerchief to do so - and with as he said the slightest touch - to his consternation wiped out the greater part of the mouth.  He brought it to us to repair.  Which we did. With him came Mrs. (widow) Alex Hamilton
