One of the famous works of the late Yasuo Kuniyoshi "Juggler Number Two" which is on display at the Kuniyoshi Memorial Exhibition at the Woodstock Art Gallery this week.

The Memorial Exhibition of Drawings by Yasuo Kuniyoshi arranged by Agnes Hart, Chairman, and sponsored by the Woodstock Artists Association, Artists Equity Fund Inc., and the Art Students League, opened Saturday afternoon July 14th at the Woodstock Art Gallery, Woodstock,, N.Y. Amod sunshine, flowers and a gathering of the artist's friends, the sociability overflowed into the Gallery Garden in the rear of the building where groups of hostesses served colorful refreshments.

Central figure at the Garden Party was Mrs. Kuniyoshi whose charm was enhanced by the enthusiastic reception of her husband's work. The delicate, sensitive line drawings of the circus figures or areas visited, were accented by the dark ink drawings, "Work At Dawn", "Early Morning," and Juggler No. 2." Kuniyoshi's contribution to the War effort was expressed in "The Nature of the Eenemy,' "Destroy This Menace", and "Torture". Studies for lithographs were on lighter subjects such as, "Girl with Feathered Hat". These and others may be viewed afternoons and Saturday evenings at the Gallery of the Woodstock Artists Association in the center of the Village of Woodstock through July 26th. Beautiful illustrated catalogues which are a permanent record of these drawings are given to the visitors.

The hostesses for the Opening were Jean Rosen, Hannah Small, Lucile Blanch, Cecile Forman, Norma Millman, Bea Laufman, and Frances Stein. Others were Charlotte Klonis and Andree Ruellan.

Not to be overlooked are the contributors of the gastronomical delicacies, hors d'oeuvres and cookies, Dorothy Varian, Mrs. E. Mandel, Mrs. Henry Mattson, Mrs. Albert Heckman, Mrs. Eugene Speicher, and many others. This tribute to an artist's supremacy was an opportunity enjoyed by all present and the inspirational spirit of Kuniyoshi's work will carry further.
