Dear Le Boit,

Recently I have been very much interested in doing war posters and I have made a few.

Therefore, when I saw the Newsletter of the Artists For Victory and the September 1 issue of the Art Digest announcing the National War Foster Competition I immediately wrote to the Artists For Victory asking for complete information concerning this competition. Since, as a member of An American Group I am automatically a member of Artists for Victory, I assumed that I was eligible for this competition.

Two days ago I received a rather snappy reply, of which I am enclosing a copy. Neither of the announcements of the National War Poster Competition mentioned such discrimination as stated, "no members of the nations of our enemies are eligible to enter, " by your assistant secretary.

Will you give me some dope on this matter? I am terribly sorry if this discrimination is true.

  Sincerely yours,

Mr. Joseph Le Boit
