Mrs. Ileana Sonnabend
12 Rue Mazarine
Paris, France

Dearest Ileana,

Happy New Year, and thank you so much for your check.

The girl that Gene Baro spoke about appeared with him a few days ago. She made a very good impression on me; and as you will see from the enclosed curriculum vita, her experience looks quite formidable. Her French is a little bit rusty; but since she is eager to go to Paris, I think she'll become fluent again pretty rapidly. She has lots of friends there, and therefore the problem of loneliness would not come up. As you will gather from her resumé she certainly is not the beat type. She's not what I could call handsome, but slim and very presentable. She probably would want something like $90-$100 a week, but this is something you could discuss with her later. Let me know if you do need her at all. She is very anxious to find out.

I'm enclosing also a few letters with requests that you'll be able to handle better than I can. There is also a footnote addressed to me on a copy of a letter to you in which Zwirner asks if I can help him out with more unsigned cows. Please let me know if I should send him some.

In addition to the other enclosures, there is a copy of a letter from me to Morone requesting the loan of O. K. Hot Shot for Pasadena etc, a letter to me from de Wilde concerning the Rauschenberg show (I'm working on that and will write him soon), and last but not least, if by chance you did not get them, clippings that the Daily Mail sent me in connection with the Tate Whaam purchase. Most gratifying.

That's all for the moment. I miss you. Write me soon.
