Dear Jake and Gwen:

It was good to talk with you last week.

Since the National Gallery of Art does not buy works by living artists, they have found a donor and your painting will be acquired in this way. Mr. Parkhurst was really very pleased about DAYBREAK, A TIME TO REST and said the entire committee was very much in favor of your painting.

The meeting with Milton Brown and John Baur and me is on February 7th. Everything will be pretty set and so it should go smoothly. The book is going forward and should come out at the same time as the Whitney exhibition. The catalogue is to be by Milton Brown. I am sure Charles will cooperate - he will be much happier working out of the gallery.

Your statement will definitely go out this week. Luise has been extremely busy as has the entire gallery!

We will also write to Andraes about the Olympic painting.

Best to you both from all of us.

Fondly,

Terry
