"Jim" also had been trained to earn his living and was an accomplished and devoted member of the family. For many years we were blessed with a conscientious and capable English woman house keeper who was of great service to my mother in caring for us three boys and attending to the care of the home during my mothers frequent trips to the Chenango Valley where her heart was alway loyal to the white farm house that welcomed the rising sun from its smiling perch on the slope of Painted hill.
