over for trial and ascertain if there is any more warrant for his action in this case, than appears from these papers. 
In connection with this affair I wish you to inform said Murray, and all other civil officers with whom you may communicate, that all illegal search of Freedmens houses is positively forbidden and that the same laws and forms will apply to Freedmen as to white men and will be demanded. It is the intention of this Bureau to protect the Freedmen in the enjoyment of all their civil rights including the quiet occupancy of their own homes.
Should you satisfy yourself that these people acted without proper authority or abused the authority they did have you will arrest them, of course. It is my opinion that the settlement of this case comes within your jurisdiction

Qrs. of Raleigh that I have used all diligence to restore Arthur to Miss Sallie A Robertson, he ran away once before and I had him brought back - he is a bad boy and as there is no man in the family of Mrs. R. I do not think he can be kept there  Respectfully returned to Miss Sallie A. Robertson.  Mr Bowe seems to be disposed to do all in his power to restore the boy 'Arthur' and he is the proper person to apply to for any assistance you may need
