Know all Men by These Presents, That Henry Thomas of the County of Shelby State of Tennessee held and firmly bound to the United States of America in the sum of   Dollars, for the payment of which I bind myself, heirs, executors and administrators, firmly, by these presents, in this Contract: That I am to furnish the persons, whose names are subjoined, freed laborers, Quarters, Fuel, [[strikethrough]] substantial and healthy Rations, all necessary Medical Attendance and Supplies in case of sickness [[/strikethrough]], and the amount set opposite their respective names per month, during the continuation of this Contract - the laborers to be paid in full before the final disposal of the crop which is to be raised by them on my plantation, in the County of Shelby State of Tennessee

The planter agrees to furnish the farming implements, teams feed for teams, and the bread the laborer's may need, they to furnish the remainder of their rations themselves and to receive for their year's labor the one half 1/2 part of the Corn & Cotton Crop & pay their own Medical attendance 

This Contract is to commence with this date and close with the year.
