State of Tennessee
Shelby County.

Article of agreement made & entered into on this the 5th day of January 1866, by E.O. Watson of the aforesaid State & County and the following hands, viz. Jacob & Bell. Bow-nen.

The said EO Watson binds himself to board said Jacob & Bell Bownen, to furnish each of them two suits of Clothing each & a pair of shoes each, to furnish Medicine & prescribe so far as he is competent & let them have five acres of ground to cul-tivate for their own use & to work it as he does his own & to furnish land, cabbins team & tools

The said hands Jacob & Bell bind themselves to do good work, to remain on the place & to do any work that may be necessary on the farm, & to take care of the tools & stock

For Idleness Misconduct & unnec-essary loss of time their pay shall be docked
