Know all men by these presents that this Article of Agreement entered into this 21st day of Decbr 1866 at Memphis Tenn between Joseph Rogers and Marion Campbell of the first part and Duncan Benton Rena Benton David Driver Alfred Driver Allen Driver & Louise Driver Penina Driver & Edmund Williams & [[Mason?]] Williams Wm Carpenter & Mary Carpenter of the second part Witnesseth that the said party of the first part hereby agree to furnish the said parties of the Second Part with Land, Seed, Team, farming implements sufficient to raise a Crop of Cotton and Corn on Joseph Rogers plantation situated about 13 miles South of Memphis Tenn and near Horn Lake Depot. The parties of the first part also agrees to furnish the said the parties of the second part with good comfortable quarters substantial healthy rations Fuel for their own use and a patch of land to be cultivated by second party for their own benefit and also to give to the second party one third of all the cotton they may raise on the said land the Cotton to be divided after being baled at the Gin house Each party to furnish their own Bagging & rope and in consideration of the above the parties of the Second part agree to work faithfully for the party of the 1st part during the entire year 1867 and agree to plant cultivate and gather not less than nine acres in Cotton and two acres in corn to the hand they
