Mrs. Ruth M. Bronson
1426 35th Street, N. W.
Washington 7, D. C.

Dear Ruth:

I have a letter from Robert L. Bennett enclosing a suggested program for the Seventh Annual Convention of the Nation Congress of American Indians. I understand that he sent you a copy. Will you please let me know what you think of this program and if you have any suggestions to make in the way of amendments thereto or deletions therefrom. I would appreciate it if you can let me have your ideas at your earliest convenience.

Mr. Bennett has suggested that I issue formal invitations to the Advisory Committee on Indian Affairs who are: Mr. Jonathan M. Steere, Dr. Clyde Kukholm, Dr. W. Carson Ryan, Mr. barry Goldwater, Mr. Oliver LaFarge, Mr. E. P. Carville, Dr. R. R. Renn, Mrs. Ruth Kirk and Dr. Mark A. Dawber. What do you think of this?

It has also been suggested that I issue a formal invitation to the Mayor of Bellingham, the Governor of the State of Washington, Honorable Henry M. Jackson and Oscar Chapman to give addresses on the dates and times given in the program. I think perhaps it would be will to issue formal invitations to them, but I particularly wanted your ideas on the advisability of inviting the Advisory Committee. I see nothing objectionable to doing so.

Sincerely,

N. B. Johnson
President, NCAI
