AIRMAIL - PERSONAL

Mr. John C. Rainer, Executive Secretary
National Congress of American Indians
616 Dupont Circle Building
Washington 25, D. C.

Dear John,

I want to thank you for your letter of August 15.

The delay in getting out the minutes for last year's convention has already caused considerable criticism in this area, which is difficult to answer or overcome.

In accordance with your request and due to the sincere interest of Director Pryse, arrangements will be made whereby an efficient stenographer will be available to take the minutes at this year at Bellingham. However, in addition, it must be understood that each speaker must submit his or her statement in writing to the stenographer. You can, therefore, forget this phase of the arrangements and we will discuss the details when we meet at Bellingham.

It is requested that any suggestions for arrangements that you send to Herb John that you send me a copy. You can rely on Herb to get things organized if he knows what is wanted. Also send me a copy of the prepared program by return airmail.

With personal regards,
